Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Agents
But Were Too Afraid to Ask
This 90-minute live webinar will feature critical information about working with a literary agent, including:
- Gaining an understanding of agent/client relationships (and how they vary)
- How to assess whether you are ready to submit to agents
- Tips for submitting your work
- Understanding the financials of traditional publishing, esp. for picture books
Multi-published and award-winning author and agent Miranda Paul will address the common misconceptions about the author/client relationship, submissions, and the role of an agent. Plus, there will be a live Q&A to answer your questions.
You'll also get two EXCLUSIVE opportunities when you register:
- A chance to submit one pitch (any kidlit genre) to Miranda. This is an incredible opportunity since Miranda is currently closed to picture book pitches outside of industry referrals. Attendees will have until January 31st, 2025 to submit their pitch, which will be compiled into a spreadsheet format (along with appropriate contact information and hashtags) and sent to Miranda. Miranda will reach out to the authors of the pitches she's interested in by April 30, 2025. She will not be providing feedback on pitches she doesn't request the manuscript for.
- Attendees will have the opportunity to enter a lottery to purchase one of 20 picture book critiques (of no more than 750 words) from Miranda at a discounted rate of $175. Miranda's regular rate for this service is $225. Details about entering the lottery for a critique will be released via email on December 6, after the live event.
It's a don't-miss webinar from one of the top authors in today's marketplace. Hosted by Julie Hedlund.
